Why cannot I order reading eye wears?

I have to work in front of computers at least 8 hours every day, so, a pair of reading eyeglasses is necessary as they can reduce the eye fatigue and strain which is caused by my long time working, actually, I don’t need Rx glasses very much as my prescription is really low, but the optician old me it was not available for me to get them if I insisted to choose full rim frames, it’s hard to notch on the edges as the edge of the lenses will be very thin because of my low prescription! Is that true?
