Which one is better for a boater?

I am a boater, you may know that polarized sunglasses are really helpful for us as the can eliminate the glare from surface of the water effectively, give me a much more comfortable working circumstance, I want to know if the tinted lenses with kinds of colors have the same effect as sunglasses? They are just the same from the outside, if not, which one is better?
